Web visitors are hunting for information on products or services - and make quick snap decisions without reading. (We have all done this!)

If that is the case, than why should I worry about Website Content Writing?

Website content writing should work in conjunction with your images, layout, brands - and call to actions.

First write for the "scanners", remember just about 15% of people actually read your entire page. (Hence why visits average 30 seconds).

  • Your headline text should communicate clearly what you and the page is about.
  • An image should support the page's overall message.
  • Sub-headings or Bullets to summarize key points

  • Answers questions potential customers are asking!

  • Discuss One Key Topic Per Page - and always include relevant links to your pages or other sites too!

  • Use phrases your customers are looking for!

  • Visual Impression - Web Design and Web Copy should work together hand in hand!

  • Most importantly: de-clutter. Reduce noise and add white space. Not only will it make your website easier to read, it will also increase your perceived trust

Don't treat your web visitors like academics who love reading challenging and complicated texts. Don't treat your web visitors like lawyers poring over small print. Don't be wordy. And don't show off your extensive vocabulary.

Instead make your text as simple as possible.

Don't try to be everything to everybody. Know who you are and what you do.
